XFlyer Campaign Ad

This was a fun assignment we had to come up with three items for an ad campaign. An 11x17 Poster Ad, a Magazine Ad, and a Postcard Ad. We also had to take a current product and give it a new use. My product was a ceiling fan, and using it as a personal helicopter.

The Poster would be in a store or around sporting good stores, the magazine ad would also be found in a Sports or Outdoor Magazine.

I love the Poster and Magazine Ad the most, and I am pleased with the way they turned out. Now onto my next assignment.

Xflyer Logo

This is a logo for an upcoming project that I am working on. Its part of a great whole that will be coming together.

I like the look of the logo and the way it stands out.

Flash Website

The final project for the Semester was a Flash Website. We had to do it as our portfolio.

Pong Gone Wrong

This was a fun assignment, we had to create a flash video revamping a classic video came into a story.

I decided to mix 3 games together to create my story. The ever classic Pong and Asteroid, the third, you will have to see the video.

Helicopter

One of the first things we had to do is animate a helicopter, that means both blades and make the helicopter follow a track. The Helicopter and pieces were provided, everything else made by me.

Book Cover 2

This is my favorite piece in my portfolio to date. We had to create a book cover using photoshop. The title, story, author, and publisher are all fictional.

We had to create the front, back, and spine of the book cover. I researched other covers and was inspired but an Agatha Christie cover. From that I was able to come up with this design for the book cover.

Tirose

Combining 2 animals together in a picture sounds quite simple; but to make it look real is another story. I choose to combine a horse and tiger together. There are still some areas that I want to improve on, but overall I really am happy with the outcome.

Perfume Add

The assignment was to create an ad for a product that used photoshop only. It had to combine 4 images together. I decided to do a perfume ad, since they are more dramatic. A lot of color alteration went into each photo to then blent and have a cohesive lilac color.

Flur De Duck

Flur de Duck is an assignment given to show the use of the filters and backgrounds available in Photoshop. We were given the duck image and had one night o make a square image.

EGC Brochure 3

During my InDesign Class, the school requested new brochures. We designed 3 brochures, this is for the medical assistant program at the College.

I worked with the Department head, to get the information they desired to have on the brochure. There were no suitable photographs that the school had, so these are from Getty Images.

Each Brochure as a unique look, but at the same time they have the same theme.

The brochure is currently being reviewed by the board to see if they are going to use them.

Ski Utah Brochure

So I had my InDesign Class, and the first real assignment was to make a brochure. The images and text were provided. We just had to use what we learned and make a brochure for Ski Utah.

McAllister Design Logo

I created the logo above for myself and my freelance work. Its made up of my Middle name and the McAllsiter tartan. Simple, but nice!

Portfolio Website

Last project in Web Design was to create a website for ourselves. My company name is McAllister Design, so I created the above website.

I wanted the design and colors to match the letterhead and postcard I would be sending out. Keeping the image unified.

Riot Logo

I met up with Riot Entertainment to re-due the logo, I submitted some variations. He wanted a logo with a TV shape, and wanted it to "sparkle." We ended up loosing contact with each other and the project was not finished.

Personally I like the last one without the TV.

This assignment was to use HTML and CSS in web design. We had to use a company that we knew or wanted to work with. I choose RIOT Entertainment.

Reba Website

Week one of my Web Design class I had to create a 4 page website. Here are 2 pages of the website.

The assignment was to make a 4 page website for a band or musical artist. I like country music and I did the wonderful Reba McEntire.

Dont Drink and Drive

We were given 10 pieces of clip art to choose from, and we had to work with only 2 of them. Once we had the clip art chosen, we needed to make them into a usable poster. It had to convey and message and be modern.

The Clip art I choose was that man on the phone, and the martini glass, that I turned into a pattern. I like the colors and the way it worked out.

Moonlight Icon

We were given a list of compound words to choose from and then tasked with making an Icon to match the word. It had to convey the word without needing the word to tell you. It was to be only 4-5 inches and as with most icons, black and white.

Hella-Byte

This was a group project focusing on working as a team. There were two sides - one you were the project manager, the other the designer.

This was my design/graphic for project I did as the Designer. I don't have the completed InDesign since the other student complied it all together. We started with several ideas and then slowly worked together to reach this end result. It was perfect and she loved the graphic.

Dubai Article

This was a group project focusing on working as a team. There were two sides - one you were the project manager, the other the designer.

This was my article as the Project Manager, although the person assigned to me only got the initial direction and never submitted anything, they ended up quitting class. In Turn I had to come up with the design at last minute.

Book Cover 1

For this assignment I was given the task to create a book cover for the young adult audience. It had to convey a feeling and I had to push myself. I now can do better, but this was my first attempt at coloring in Photoshop, all self taught.

This is now another one of my side projects to perfect.

Camero

This is a work in progress. I am not to happy with the windows, but everything else is good. I had to make a car in Illustrator and Make it as realistic as possible.

Gala Flyer

The project was to make an event flyer for St Pattys day, and then use several techniques in Illustrator to pull off the design. The Requirements were to have one Horizontal Text and one text that followed a shape. I added the 3D coins and Pot of Gold for fun.

Vegamite Cereal

The assignment was to create a 3D cereal box in Illustrator. We had to come up with the Name, logo, and a character for the cereal.

I submitted this for the final project. The teacher wanted a plain white background so I had to remove them from the final, but I personally like the colors interaction.

I was given the task to design my company letterhead. the above is the letterhead turned in. It includes a Business card and postcard.

Jump Campaign

The Assignment I was given was to design a marketing campaign. It was to be a Graphic Design company and they needed new clients. So I came up with a simple but cool graphic.

My campaign was based on the idea of making your business jump out from the rest. This was one of the draft ideas for a poster that I submitted. The typography is missing from the project. They were not to be finished, it was only to be rough drafts and ideas submitted.

This was completed in February of 2010.

In my spare time, I am looking to have this finished in Illustrator. No assignment, just want to see it finished.

Iman

The assignment was to take a photograph of a famous person (our choosing) and rasterize the image, and make it in Illustrator' making sure the shades and image are complete.

I choose a picture of Iman and this was completed in January of 2010

Visual Slants Logo

I was tasked to design a logo for a business that I knew. This is the final logo that I submitted. this went through several revision, the teacher wanted some changed made, so I complied. I am very happy with the Logo, Its my favorite to date.

Illuminated Letter

This is one of the first projects I had to do in school. The Assignment was to create an Illuminated letter by hand and colored by hand. I wanted dark rich colors so I choose to use Markers, for the vivid hues available.

After some revision this is the final design turned in. This was completed in November of 2009.
